Based upon survey results we estimate that cabin owners generate $34.7 million in revenue to the local, state and federal government and $109 million in revenue for the rural economies local to our cabins! Given the strength
of the survey results and analysis methodology, we can empirically demonstrate the economic impact of the cabin program and further arguments for fairness in our cabin fees.
The survey results also solidly support the position that cabin owners, their families and guests significantly contribute to key Forest Service forest stewardship goals such as climate change, water resources, and kids in the woods.
