CANDIDATES FOR 2018 NFH OFFICE

OFFICE OF PRESIDENT

Doug Gann, Leavenworth, WA

South Shore Lake Wenatchee Tract (Lake Wenatchee Summerhome Association), WA; Okanogan-Wenatchee NF.

Cabin owner, 13 years; 13-year NFH Member

Qualification and Experience: My wife Susan and I live in Leavenworth, WA and have three adult children and one grandson. I retired from Cisco Systems, Inc. in 2011 after working 35 years in the high technology field, mostly in sales leadership roles, as well as, strategy, planning, and acquisitions. I’m the past president of the Lake Wenatchee Summer Home Association, a member of the Washington State Homeowners Association, and I have served on the NFH Board of Directors for the past 6 years. Last year I was elected as NFH Vice President.

I’ve served as a Steering Committee member of the Cabin Coalition 2 which resulted in the passage of the Cabin Fee Act. I’ve also served as the NFH Technology Committee Chair since its formation in 2013 and served one year on the Nominating Committee. I’ve presented at numerous NFH Conferences and Forums on a variety of cabin related topics.

The success of NFH requires cabin owners willing to volunteer for leadership roles and contribute to the organization. I would like to continue the effort to evolve the NFH organization to provide more services and value to our members. I will be honored to serve and would appreciate your vote.

Thank You.

OFFICE OF TREASURER

Linda Ballentine, Danville, CA

Huckleberry Tract, CA; Sierra NF

Family owned cabin, 52 years; 1-year NFH Member

Qualifications and Experience: I am the fourth-generation owner of our cabin, and want to ensure that the cabin will be enjoyed by future generations of my family. I consider NFH to be a key component to making this happen.

I have served on the NFH board this past year and appreciate all that the organization does for national forest cabin owners. I am humbled at all that the board members do. My goal is to serve the organization to my greatest capacity. I believe that serving NFH as Treasurer will accomplish this.

I am an accountant in my professional career, and specialize in managing the finances of nonprofits. I have over 30 years of experience in the accounting and finance industries. I am also a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor. I feel that I can be a much more effective board member if I serve as Treasurer.

My cabin-related activities are:

Member, Conference Task Force Member, Membership Committee Member, Finance Committee

Huckleberry Tract – Board Member since 2014 Secretary, 2014 – Present; Communications, 2016 – Present
