2017 NFH Fall Forum Photo Contest

USFS Region 4 Cabin Photo Contest! OPEN NOW

 

 

ANNOUNCEMENT: National Forest Homeowners announces the (first) 2017 Fall Cabin Photo Contest.  The photos should feature cabins and areas that are located in the USFS Intermountain Region 4, including Utah, Nevada, southern Idaho, and western Wyoming.

OPEN:
Entries will be accepted from September 15 through October 6, 2017 at 5PM Pacific Daylight Time.  Photos will be
selected based on image quality, historical or human interest, and relevance to the cabin program.  The judges encourage you to feature your or neighboring cabin(s) with surroundings, cabin life, or your cabin community.

ELIGIBILITY: The NFH Fall Forum Photo Contest (“Photo Contest”) is open to all cabin owners, including family members.  NFH Board of Directors and NFH Employees, including family members, are not eligible.

PRIZES:  First place winner will receive a free year's membership (2018) with National Forest Homeowners. Second and third place winners will receive NFH gift items. Winning photos will be published on the NFH website, and may be announced at the 2017 NFH Fall Forum in Salt Lake City and posted on our Facebook page.

HOW TO ENTER:

  •         Maximum of 2 entries per member
  •         JPG format, 1-20MB file size

  •         Subject line: NFH 2017 Fall Forum Photo Contest
  •         Your name
  •         Email address
  •         Phone number
  •         National Forest and tract where cabin is located
  •         Photo caption (maximum 25 words
  •         Photos should accurately reflect the subject matter
  •         Limit digital alterations to dust removal, cropping, exposure, color and contrast corrections

JUDGING/JUDGES

Photos will be judged on composition, overall visual impact, relevance to the cabin program, historic or human interest, and artistic merit. Judging will be conducted by a panel selected by the NFH Events Committee.

RULES, GUIDELINES, ELIGIBILITY, SPONSOR, LIABILITY, RIGHTS

Your photographs help NFH promote and preserve the cabin program. Thank you for helping to further our mission through your photography. By submitting your photo to the NFH 2017 Fall Forum photo contest, you permit NFH to use the photo in marketing and promotion materials.  The Photo Contest is sponsored by National Forest Homeowners, PO Box 55, San Cristobal, NM 87564 .  NFH has sole discretion to determine entry eligibility. 

By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless NFH, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Photo Contest.

Previously published material for which non-exclusive rights were granted may be entered as long as you still maintain the rights to your photo. If you submit a you grant NFH a royalty-free, nonexclusive right to:

  • Display the photograph on the NFH website and in other promotional materials.
  • Allow third-parties to share the photograph on social media.
  • Use the photograph on the Internet and in social media in support of our mission.
  • Retain your photograph in the NFH photo library for future NFH promotions. 

NFH will endeavor to credit all photographs with the caption "Person's Name" when the full name is available.

If you choose to include people in your submission, you are responsible for obtaining the individuals’ permission, and be able to provide a model release to NFH upon request.
