Each fall, our national association hosts an event in a region where recreation residence cabins are located. National Forest Homeowners (NFH) is a non-profit membership association representing approximately 14,000 permit holders across the U.S. Our Fall Forum includes regional challenges and topics of shared interest, as well as news about our national advocacy and other initiatives for the cabin community.  Attendees are special use (recreation residence) permit holders and their families. USFS staff are invited to answer panel questions. Our keynote this fall is Molly Hunter, Scientist and Advisor with the Joint Fire Science Program, located at University of Arizona in Tucson.  Session topics include fire and cabins, as well as how to engage the upcoming generation, the heirs or buyers of today's permit-holders.  The forum enables NFH to hear more directly from local and regional cabin owners, to assist local groups in problem-solving, and to celebrate this heritage public lands program.
