We are hoping to rebuild, but we would like some reassurance that if we ever want to sell there will be a market for a cabin in a burned area.

While I don't have any personal experience to offer, I'll share from our experience that the number of buyers for cabins far exceeds the number of cabin sellers. I think it's fair to assume the amount of damage to the surrounding forest will influence the amount someone might pay for a cabin in that location, but I don't see a situation where a cabin becomes unsellable.

Hopefully other members may be able to share their personal experience. Has anyone purchased a cabin in a location damaged by wild fire? Obviously, those who have sold cabins would no longer follow this forum.
