I know the National Forest has camping regulations that deal with excessive nuisance noise, like the kind that comes from ATVs, on FS land but are permitted cabins held to the same noise standards? Some of the neighboring cabins like to let the kids run their ATVs up and down the 1/16th mile road for hours at a time - is this discussed somewhere? If it matters I am in the SW region in Arizona.I am at my cabin now but all of my cabin paperwork is at my home in Connecticut where there is not the risk of forest fire but realize now I should make copies to keep here as well. Thanks for any guidance.

Contact your local Ranger District office. There are whole volumes on this subject. ATV use is prohibited just about everywhere except where it is specifically allowed. You can find a short version copy posted at every trailhead parking lot. Copy off the form number and go online to get your own copy.
