I wanted to reach out to the cabin community and see if anyone has contacts or a suggestion of how to find and hire someone with expertise in rodent-proofing a cabin - specifically an ooooooold log cabin. We've had minor issues for many years, but they have gotten precipitously worse over the past 5 years, and we are unable to solve it ourselves.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

I had been noticing more evidence of rodents in my cabin. We tried the electric plug-in ultrasonic pest repellers. Do you have electric outlets at your cabin? These ultrasonic repellers emit a sound that most humans cannot hear. It bothers the rodents so they go beyond the distance that the sound travels. We bought one for each room to cover the entire cabin. They worked for me. Two of the guests we had could hear the sound so we turned them off during their stays. If you loose power, which happens too often at my cabin, when the power comes back on they are in off mode. I expect that the rodents are enjoying the relative comfort of my cabin over the winter since we shut down the power. When we open up next month those plug-ins will be turned back on.
