<title>External Fire Mitigation Systems for Cabin -  Any Discussion with USFS ?</title>

<description><![CDATA[<p>Hi Steven,<br /><br />NFH has not been pushing these protection systems on a national basis for exactly the reasons you mention like lack of access to water and power. But you are also correct there are some tracts where that is not a problem. There are some tracts that provide access to their water systems and fire fighting equipment to the FS, county, Cal Fire and other fire fighting agencies. We encourage tracts to work together as a unit and engage with the local fire station (often volunteer).  NFH has published a Framework for Emergency Planning that helps cabin owners work locally.
