NFH is building a more connected cabin community. The NFH Outreach Program recruits volunteers to be part of a strategic email network to provide broad distribution of cabin community information and to find out what is going on at the grassroots level nationwide.

We are actively seeking volunteer Outreach Coordinators for: Alaska, California (Lassen/Plumas/Tahoe NFs, Mendocino/Los Padres NFs, Stanislaus NF, and Angeles NF), California/Nevada (Humboldt-Toiyabe NF), Oregon, and Florida.
AREA/STATE COORDINATOR ROLE
NFH seeks volunteers to serve as Area or State Outreach Coordinators for the NFH Cabin Outreach Program. The purpose of the program is to provide a two-way communication network between the cabin community and NFH and to increase outreach to non-members. The Outreach Coordinator role area of responsibility can be forest-specific, regional, or state-wide and is negotiable.
Qualifications:
NFH member with demonstrated commitment to the organization
Passion about the cabin program
Excellent communication skills
Email/Database/Spreadsheet proficiency
Demonstrated organizational ability
Responsibilities:
Establish an email network to communicate with all recreation residence permittees within the state
Identify points of contact (tract leaders or tract communicators) in both member and non-member tracts
Regularly provide information about the services and resources of NFH
Communicate local issues to the Field Director
Provide information about organizing a tract and the benefits of membership
Develop good working relationships with appropriate USFS personnel
