Cabin owners, we have learned, feel a sense of responsibility to contribute or give back to the national organization as well as to their local tracts, forests and neighboring communities - and we have fun doing it! The NFH Economic Benefit Study (2022) found that the cabin community volunteers over 145 thousand hours of their time annually! Cabin owners often mention volunteering as a recreation activity on surveys.

They also participate in national events – National Trails Day each June and National Public Lands Day in September. To learn more about volunteering on your National Forest, click here. |
| NFH Roles for Volunteers At the same time, NFH welcomes volunteers who want to help steer the national association and contribute to our outreach efforts. As a member-driven organization with a volunteer board, we have opportunities for leadership and several working committees and interesting projects for those with a passion for advocacy, stewardship, education or other critical areas for the cabin program. Let us know how you would like to volunteer on behalf of fellow cabin owners by filling out one of the forms below.
